The California Rodeo Fiesta Scholarship endowment fund has grown to more than $99,000 since it was established in 1987 with donations from the California Rodeo Fiesta Day Committee. Five $1,000 scholarships were awarded this Spring to Salinas Valley students who will be attending Hartnell College next fall or transferring from Hartnell to four-year institutions.
The scholarship requires that applicants be graduates of Salinas Valley high schools with a 2.0 grade point average or above. Applicants may be entering Hartnell as freshmen, be continuing students at Hartnell College, or be students transferring from Hartnell to a four-year university. Selection of scholarship recipients is based on academic promise and financial need. Scholarship recipients must enroll in and maintain 12 units of study each semester.
